Access into a SharePoint site

    Question

  • Hi,

I have full access inside a site. But i am not able to edit a list item inside a list.

I tried doing that update using system account and powershell but still receiving the same below error.

    Exception calling "Update" with "0" argument(s): "<nativehr>0x80070005</nativehr><nativestack></nativestack>"
    At line:1 char:17
    + $ListItem.Update <<<< ()
        + CategoryInfo          : NotSpecified: (:) [], MethodInvocationException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : DotNetMethodException

Can any suggest what is wrong with this site ?

  • Hello Sanjay,

Just make sure that the user running the script is a member of the administrators' group in site permissions.

  • Hi joshi,

Make sure the item don't have unique permission. Make sure the user has edit permission on the item.

Check the item->Click the Items tab,  Shared with->Advanced->Check permissions, make sure the user has edit permission on the item.

    Best Regards,
