How to automate adding PM and Project Sponsor into the Security Groups when Project sites are created RRS feed

  • We have an intake form for project ideas that collect project data (project name, type, PM, sponsor, and other criteria).  This is based off a custom list and there is a workflow behind this list that when a project record is "approved" the site is created.

    The problem is the we have our PMO approving the projects and thus they become the owner of the project sites.  I would like to get the PM and the Sponsor associated to this project (on the custom list record) to be added to the applicable security groups that are added when the project site is created.

    I'm assuming I need to do this in the workflow, but not certain if this is the only place to do this.  If so, how can this be done.  Anyone have any examples?
