How do I send a workflow email in plain text RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have seen previous posts on this, but no one has really answered the question with a way to do this.  We are using a SharePoint workflow in MOSS to pull data from a list and send an email to a receiver system.  However the email is formated in html.  The email is formatted correctly and that data looks right in email, but becuase the receiver system does not understand HTML is rejects the email as garbage.  Is there a way to send a formatted email using SPD that goes out at plain text?

  • Is it an out of the box workflow or built using SharePoint Designer? I remember creating my own custom workflow using SharePoint designer and I had to use HTML so that the email will look nice. If it's built using SPD, I think it's already in plain text. BTW, what version are you working with? I'm referring to 2007.

  • Actually, now that I think about it, I think the default emails from SPD workflow are not in plain text. They're in HTML format, but you need to use your own HTML, otherwise it doesn't look nice.
