Is there any limitation for the maximum number of games in a subcategory?

    Question

  • Hello, when I browse Games in Store, I find that, for some subcategories, it shows "Games 1,000 apps" at the top line title. It confuses me. Does it imply that the maximum number of apps in a subcategory is 1000, or it only shows up to 1000 apps in the selected sorting order?

I am sorry if I use English wrongly, I am posting at a wrong location, or this is a stupid question. :)

    Thanks very much.

  • There is no limitation on the number of Apps that can be submitted to a category. So yes, it's only about how many are displayed for a given search query.

  • Thank you for reply. So it is possible that an app submitted won't be displayed in any searching combination of all query options. Is it <del>correct</del> true? Thanks again.

  • I guess so, if the store ranking algorithm places it outside the top 1000. It should of course still show up on regular searches on the store and for new Apps there also is the New & Rising section that specifically caters to newly released Apps.

I guess most users won't look at more than even the top 100 anyway though.
