METRO ResourceDictionary fails to find a class defined in a solution assembly RRS feed

  • Question

  • A strange behavior occurs with references to public local classes in a ResourceDictionary marked as Content (both with or w/o. Custom Tool)

Loading the ResourceDictionary at runtime through XamlReader.Load fails saying "type not found".

But if a dummy reference to the class is added to a compiled page within the solution, e.g. as resource,

    the XamlReader.Load method will succeed.

    Is this a known bug?

  • Hi Matt,

I developed a short demo app of the problem, you can download it here.

During development I found out that e.g. a UserControl loads without problems, but I had the problem with an own FrameworkTemplate.

Take a look in the demo app.
