Support SQL 2008 Failover Cluster and Hyper-V Cluster 2012 RRS feed

  • I would like to know if SQL 2008 Failover Cluster is supported in  Hyper-V 2012 clustering.

  • If you mean running SQL Server 2008 Failover Clustering as guest inside a Hyper-V 2012 cluster, then, yes it is supported. Just make sure that you don't put both of the nodes in the same Hyper-V cluster node because it defeats the purpose of providing high availability. When the Hyper-V cluster node goes down, the guests may be moved to the other node but not without downtime that depends on how the Hyper-V cluster is configured
