outlook 2010 addin disbaled for firts time RRS feed

  • Hi,

    We have developed outlook addin(outlook 2010) for our clients. one of the organization has pointed out that addin installed on there system is disabled for first time. but once they enable it it works fine even after restarting outlook.

    However we did not find this issue on our environment and even its fine with other clients.

    What can be the reason that addin is disabled after installation?

    Please take a look at the How to: Re-enable an Add-in That Has Been Disabled article in MSDN. It states the following:

    Microsoft Office applications can disable add-ins that behave unexpectedly. If an application does not load your add-in, the application might have hard disabled or soft disabled your add-in.

    Soft disabling can occur when an add-in produces an error that does not cause the application to unexpectedly close. For example, an application might soft disable an add-in if it throws an unhandled exception while the Startup event handler is executing.

    Hard disabling can occur when an add-in causes the application to close unexpectedly. It might also occur on your development computer if you stop the debugger while the Startup event handler in your add-in is executing.

    Also add-ins can be disabled due to the Trust Center settings in Outlook. But that is not your case.
