Excel Group Functionality RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am writing an XSLT that generated OpenXML for Excel.  In that document I am using the outlineLevelRow =" 1 " as illustrated in the thread below.

    http://openxmldeveloper.org/forums/post/721.aspx

All of my grouping output in the XML looks correct.  However, when I open the workbook the +/- sign goes the wrong direction (the plus shows up BELOW the group) and things look generally misplaced with some nodes appearing orphaned and what not.  However, when I go to Data > Outline (Group) settings and uncheck the "Summary rows below detail" everything works exactly as a I expect.

So my question is, can I somehow indicate this setting in my XML?

  • Hi,
I'm not sure if there's a schema element corresponding to this app's option. You may create two documents, where the only difference is check & uncheck the "Summary rows below detail" option. then use OpenXmlDiff tool with the SDK to show the differences in XML markup. In this way, it's easier for you to feature out if it's realizable using SDK.
