Group Cannot be found while clicking on logo RRS feed

  • Question

  • We're facing a weird issue while creating Host Named Site Collections. After creating Host Named Site Collection, while clicking on logo , users are getting group cannot be found even for Site Collection Admins.

We're able to access Site Collection by chaning URL to _layouts/viewlsts.aspx and form there we're able to navigate to any other pages ; however getting group cannot be found error while clicking on home page logo

    Please advise

  • Hello Linda,

Finally figured out what was causing issue. While setting up HSNC we need to update IIS binding entry to Site Collection as well to the residing Web Application

After adding IIS binding to site collection, we were able to access to HSNC

    Thanks,

  • Hi Praveen Kumar Padmakaran,

Be default, the path of the logo link is the site path “http://<site>”. Check the path of the logo and try manually entering the path in the address bar to see if you can access the site.

For this issue, please also check if the issue is caused by the web parts or customizations on the page. Add "?contents=1" to the home page URL to see what happens.

If the issue still exists, provide the screenshots and ULS logs about this issue for further research.

    Best Regards,

    Linda Zhang

  • Hello Linda,

Thank you so much for you comments

We've updated the URL manually and it seems it's working, however when we try to access host named site as 'http://teama.abc.com' we're getting access denied

if we try to access site as 'http://teama.abc.com/pages/default.aspx, we'r able to access also when we try to update URL as ' http://teama.abc.com/_layouts/viewlsts.aspx' also it seems to be working

Only problem is we are not able to access siite with URL 'http:/teama.abc.com'

    Please advise

    Thanks,

    Praveen Kumar Padmakaran

  • Hi Praveen Kumar Padmakaran,

When accessing “http:/teama.abc.com” and the error displays, check the newly generated ULS log. Provide the error message for finding the cause.

    Best regards,

    Linda Zhang
