fast search on oracle 11g

hi

i know that it isnt Oracle forum, but maybe someone can help me

i have oracle 11g database that contain 900,000 records.

when i run any query - It takes a long time Until i see the Result

i run my query Through my C# program.

what is the fast way to do it ?

Reduce the number of rows/columns that need to be accessed (indexes, compression, normalisation) or speed up the access (spread over more disks and parallel io, more cache, more memory)...
