  • No, this is a hard cut-off for the reliable depth given the power of the IR. At hackathons, we have demonstrated a modified version of the hardware that lowered the power profile which allowed for ranges of 10cm to 1meter, but that removed the ability to do body tracking since objects closer to the sensor cast a much larger IR shadow.

    There are currently no plans to release this as feature. If you are in the Vancouver/Burnaby area in November, we have another hackathon scheduled for the weekend of November 8th. Stay tuned for updates on registration opening up.
