C# code to do SFTP of files RRS feed

  • Hi all

    i don't know whether it's a right forum to ask this question.

    I have to download files from my SFTP server into my local machine.

    the code can be either VB.Net or C#.Net. please provide me the sample code.

    let SFTP server be "TestWebServer", port 22, username and password, remote location "\" , local location "C:\test"

    please help me.

  • Hi,

    AFAIK, .NET Framework does not support SFTP natively. You may need to use a third party or open source component to implement it.

    Take a look at the following links.

    IP*Works! SSH 

    SharpSSH is open source and a pure .NET implementation of the SSH2 client protocol suite. It provides an API for communication with SSH servers and can be integrated into any .NET application.

    Granados is also an SSH client library for .NET.

    Rebex SFTP is a versatile file-transfer component for .NET languages (such as C# or VB.NET) that provides secure file system access over an SSH channel using the SFTP protocol.

    AFAIK, .NET Framework does not support SFTP natively. You may need to use a third party or open source component to implement it.

    SharpSSH is open source and a pure .NET implementation of the SSH2 client protocol suite. It provides an API for communication with SSH servers and can be integrated into any .NET application.

    Granados is also an SSH client library for .NET.

    i don't know whether it's a right forum to ask this question.

    I have to download files from my SFTP server into my local machine.

    the code can be either VB.Net or C#.Net. please provide me the sample code.

    let SFTP server be "TestWebServer", port 22, username and password, remote location "\" , local location "C:\test"

    please help me.

  • The code pasted in appears to be for FTPS, which is different from SFTP . SFTP uses SSH where FTPS uses SSL.
