Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v2.0 Disabled RRS feed

  • Question

  • On our test server which our vendor installed there is a serious performance issue on the websites that are running v2.0 of the framework.   The defaultAppPool and the vendorpool for the 2.0 version are set to this framework.   Our other apps are running through v4. which service is set to automatic delayed start.

Is this service setting be set to automatic delayed start or just automatic?    I'm receiving messages in the log saying that the auto-start is not supported with the current framework version.

  • Assuming that you are talking about issues with a web server, please post in a topical forum at the ASP.NET forums site, here:

If you wish to test the integrity of a .NET Framework version on the subject server, use this tool:

Run the tool with the version of .NET selected per your needs, then look at the last few lines of the tool log where the test app return code is displayed. Any code other than 0 (zero) indicates an issue with that .NET Framework version and you will need to repair or reinstall that framework.
