Error 2331 sqlca.dll Error when trying to uninstall SQL Server 2005 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ok, so I lose power to my pc (don't ask why) as I'm installing sp1 to Visual Studio 2005 during the install.  This totally messes up a lot of stuff.  The devengine wont even start and for some reason Windows Live Messenger won't start either.  Some kind of 'unexpected error at 0xc0150000b'.

So anyways I decide to completely uninstall VS 2005.  I guess you could say I did this sort of hastily by going to the Control Panel Uninstall Programs option.  I didn't realize there was a specific order that the components had to be uninstalled.  First I uninstalled VS 2005 from the add/remove option and got errors when trying to uninstall SQL Server 2005 (btw I am using the 90 day trial).

So I aborted the rest of the installation and looked on-line for some ways to manually deleted SQL Server.  Here are my attempts at removing it.

    First attempt: http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b116/dtdono0/DOTNET/sqlserver_error01.jpg

    Second attempt:

It seems as if I have some kind of error with the sqlca.dll file.  I tried to do a regsvr command on it, but as you can see from the first ss that method fails too.

    Any suggestions??
