EWS - Are Exchange 2007/2010 Push Notification Subscription IDs unique across mutliple Exchange organiziations? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We plan to develop an Exchange Web Services application that will be talking to multiple Exchange servers for many mailboxes in different Exchange organizations (in different Active Directory forests), and our application will be making use of push notifications.

Can we count on the push notification subscription IDs being unique?  In otherwords could I listen for all the push notifciations on a single TCP/IP port?

Or would I need to listen  for push notifications on a different TCP/IP port for each CAS server to help ensure I don't run into any subscription ID collisions between two different mailboxes located in different forests?

  • I opened a support incident with Microsoft and they said the subscription ID is a GUID so it should be unique.
