appending commands to the GrammarBuilder RRS feed

  • Question

  • Do you have to add all the commands you want the kinect to be able to detect to the grammarbuilder, or can the kinect parse words without adding the command? If i wanted a pretty large command list, would I need to add a dictionary list to the grammarbuilder?

  • Tareq,

The kinect SDK is just sending the audio to the speech platform, and the speech platform is the component that interprets the grammar. You should consult the docs in the Speech Platform SDK you installed. I will check to see if speech platforms have a forum and if I can find one, I'll send you a link.

  • the answer is no.  The speech server does not support free dictation.  sapi 5.3 supports it but not with the Kinect audio/language model supplied by the sdk.

with this SDK, you need to supply a list of all possible commands you want to listen for.
