Proper namespace to import/ OneNote 2010 and Visual Studio Express 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I've been trying to get a VB.Net Microsoft OneNote code sample to work. The samples automate OneNote tasks. I'm working with Visual studio 2010 and OneNote 2010. I've added references for the Microsoft OneNote 14 object library and XML v.6. Both were added through the COM collection, as suggested in the tutorial. Embed Interop Types in the Microsoft.Office.Interop.OneNote reference is set to false as directed.

Finally, I've imported namespaces for System, System.Linq, System.xml.Linq and Microsoft.Office.Interop.OneNote. However, Visual Studio intellitype doesn't recognize the OneNote namespace members. I've substituted fully qualified names where I can puzzle them out, but the code isn’t working despite compiling on a test run.  I’m not sure if I’ve incorrectly adjusted the code or if something else is wrong.  I’d like to know what namespaces I need to import to recognize members of the OneNote14 Office Interop reference.

    The code sample is here:

Sorry if this is the wrong forum.  Since there’s no forum I can find for OneNote, I’m wondering where to post…

    Thanks.

  • Cindy,

Through Intellisense, I figured out all the fully qualified names, so the code works.  Obviously, it's easier with the proper namespace imported.  I posted the question over at the Answers group as you suggested.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Peter

I'm going to move this to the more appropriate General Office Development forum, which is where all discussions go when there's no application-specific forum.

Another possible source of assistance would be Answers. That's where most of the application specialists will be found. It's not said that they have experience with exactly what you're trying to do, but it couldn't hurt to ask. I can't move messages to the "Answers" groups for you, so you'd need to ask there separately.
