  • A lot of the Silverlight community wants to help you, but you need to some work yourself as well.

It's important to know that Silverlight cannot access a database directly, you will need other components to do this for you. Best solution is a WCF service. You can see this WCF Service basically as only a communication layer between Silverlight and the database. I think in the end you'll end up with more layers than just the three you're mentioning.

Silverlight UI -> Client Side Business logic -> WCF Service Layer -> Server Side Business Logic -> Data Layer

  •  Hi,

If you are looking for 3 layered Client architecture you can check MVP and MVVM models .

These architecture are quite effective for silverlight model.

  • A few days ago Shawn Wildermuths excellent article about MVVM came out on MSDN http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd458800.aspx. That should help you on MVVM and Silverlight
