Chinese on-screen keyboard

  • How do you press "shift" using the Windows 7 on-screen keyboard?  I don't want to press shift+some other key.  I just need to press and release shift.  There doesn't seem to be a way to do that.

We are developing a kiosk-app with Windows Embedded Standard 7 and we need to support Chinese input.  With the keyboard to Chinese, the user must press left-shift to toggle between Chinese character input and English character input.  But there does not seem to be any way to press shift using the on-screen keyboard.  If you click the shift key, it displays the key as down, but shift is not actually pressed.  You must click on another key, then it sends shift+that key.  But that won't activate the Chinese input.  You must press shift with no other key down.

This limitation seems to make it impossible to enter Chinese with the on-screen keyboard.  Is there any way to do it?
