Macro support in Blend planned? (David Armor) - 1/3/2007 6:23 AM PST RRS feed

The designer on our team needs to incrementally build a database of all
phrases used in the application to be translated in the future. I'd love to
provide an easy way to query the database to see if the phrase exists or add
it if it doesn't and return the index, all within Blend. The index would be
used in a custom path expression for data binding the UI element to the
correct phrase. any automation of this process would be helpful.

    Thanks for any input.

    Hi David,

I don't think this would be possible. Just out of curiosity - is there a
designer tool out there that enables this?

    Thanks,
    Unni

Not that I know of. In Visual Studio 2005 I wrote a Macro to do this for
    WinForms.

I guess I will have to write something that runs external to Blend.

    Thanks for the info. Dave

Just out of curiosity on a simlar question; I assume you guys looked good
and hard at After effects. There is a very robust 3rd party market for
plugins that are basically macro libraries.

Now I know this is V1 and it would great if something like that is coming in
V1, but I surely hope you are planning on having in V1.1.
