Developing Apps for Office 2013 in Visual Studio Express 2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

How to develop apps for Office 2013 using Visual Studio 2012 Express for Desktop?

I'd like to build an app using C#. I have tried to open samples provided but my Visual Studio can't open them saying they are incompatible.

Can I use Visual Studio 2012 Professional Trial instead?

    Best,
    Lukasz Wolnik

  • Correct, Apps for Office (as does Visual Studio Tools for Office, for that matter) require a Professional version of Visual Studio.  Visual Studio 2012 Professional Trial should work just fine.

  • Thank you, Michael. I will try my luck with the trial version.

Could you maybe ask the technical staff to put that information into the documentation where the samples are provided?
