mail merge stopped working on one machine only RRS feed

  • Hi there-

    I have an old VFP6 app with mail merge functionality using Word.  The mail merge has been working fine until recently when one remote computer was updated.  Now when he clicks on the button that usually brings up a letter, he is getting the following error:

    Error 1429 – OLE Idispatch exception code 0 from Microsoft Word: The mailmerge to doc command is not available because the document is not a mail merge main document…”  

    The user of the computer says that the version of Word on the "problem" machine is Microsoft Word 2003 (11.8328.8329) SP3

     The other machine that he uses to run this application (which works fine) is running  “Microsoft Word 2003 (11.6502.6408) SP1”

     Both machines are pointing to the same EXE as well as the same template document.  So this is the only variable I can find.  Any ideas on how to get it working on all PCs?  Thanks so much.
