how to detremine movie clip length using windows SDK RRS feed

  • i want to determine the length(for how much time it will play) of a movie clip(*.avi,*.dat,*.mpg,*.mpeg any) without playing it
    using VC++.
                        i found that C:\Windows\Sysytem32 contains one COM as WMP.dll(this is windows media player COM dll)
    it contains interfaces to know that so kindly let me know how to utilise the COM dll in VC++ code.

    i am not supposed to use directx for this
    i am using Visual studio2003 for development

    any help willl be appriciated in advance

  • The interface definitions can be found in Windows Media Player SDK, which has been included in the Windows SDK for Windows Vista. However you said you're using VS.NET 2003, which may not successfully compile the Windows Vista SDK, you could download older versions of Windows Media Player SDK here (9) and here (10).

    Once you install the SDK, reference the following document for using them in your VC program:
