HCK DF - PnP Rebalance xxx breaks .kdfiles mapping, and it stays broken until driver name is changed. RRS feed

  • Hi All.  I'm trying to use my debug target as an HCK test machine so that I can step code to see why a certain test is failing.  I use .kdfiles to always pull the latest driver image from the debug host.  This works for several boot cycles of the test.  Eventually, the driver under test stops being pulled from the debug host.  Sometimes It will attempt to pull it but ZwCreateFile will fail on the debug target.  When this happens it seems that a process, sysparse.exe has the file driver image file open.  Has anyone seen or dealt with this?

Even if its disallowed to use .kdfiles on a driver under test in the HCK, is there a way to get it working again (without HCK) short of reinstalling the OS?  Its seems that some interesting registry keys along the lines of xxx\PnPLockDownFiles\blah\blah\mydrivername.sys that have appeared conincident with HCK testing.

As always, I am very appreciative of any help offered.
