FIleSystemWatcher problems RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi guys,

i  have created an application which consists of 3 components 1 GUI, another 3rd party exe and another application which monitors a folder and uploads the new files to another server.. the Interface is used to configure the 3rd party applications configure files and other configurations. once the 3rd party application create the files and saves them in a folder.. the 3rd applicaiton will monitor it and upload the files to remote server. for this i  have used FileSystemWatcher class to check for any files created. but for some big files the Created Event is through when the file starts copying which  kicks of the upload of partial data. how do i stop this..i want it to notify once the file is copied successfully to that folder.. some sites say to increase internalbuffer. is there anything else.

  • Hi,

You can try to play with OnChanged event and NotifyFilters property (for instance check LastWrite attribute).

OnChanged event here can replace OnCreated event.
