Can BizTalk R2 handle receiving EDIFACT messages without UNA, UNB or UNZ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I’m trying to receive the following EDIFACT message in BizTalk R2 Beta2. I receive the following message from a LOB-application:

However, my challenge is that BizTalk doesn’t seem to accept my input message without an Edifact- Interchange envelope (UNA, UNB and UNZ-segments).
Is there some way to make BizTalk understand my Edifact message or do I have to develop a custom pipeline-component to add the
    “missing” segments?

  • BizTalk R2 cannot accept a message without UNB/UNZ. UNA and UNG/UNH is optional. So yes you would have to add atleast UNB header and UNZ trailer for this message to be accepted.

    Thanks
