SQL 2014 - Support for 3D for Geometry Objects? RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    with the Geometry support x,y,z for all Points, Lines and Polygons in SQL Server 2014?  I really need 3D.

  • You can store your objects in SQL Server spatial with x,y,z coordinates, but the spatial library in SQL Server (for example, the function that calculates the distance between two points) don't support 3D calculations. The libraries only take x and y into consideration in their calculations.
