Kinect Version 2 - Recognize the Door as human. How to overcome this??? RRS feed

  • What kind of lighting is in the room, does it always detect this Body even when you walk in front of it? Any computer vision system is based on trained data, so the data coming from the IR/Depth is matching the what it thinks a human is. Because it is at the edges of the view, there is a lot of noise which can be defeating the part of the algorithm that knows that stationary objects are not humans. You will want to add some type of filtering or additional logic to only track valid bodies in a particular region if you are uncomfortable with false positives.

  • That happens quite often with kinect's body recognition, e.g. a gymball (a large ball) almost always recognized as a small skeleton in our fitness clubs, we just ignore small skeletons in this case.
