GPS device on Windows RT RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to write a Windows Store app that requires high accuracy GPS. I want to be able to run it on my Surface RT, which does not have inbuilt GPS.

I have been tearing my hair out trying to find any sort of info about whether ANY USB or Bluetooth GPS device will work with RT. All I have had from MS is absolute silence or pointers to the useless Compatibility Centre.

Can anyone shed light on whether this is a) possible or b) likely in the future? ie are drivers being developed for new/existing devices? Are drivers even required? Is this an area MS is actively looking at (it should be, IMHO)?
