How to restart the first boot initialization sequence ?

    Question

  • Hi,

I created a Windows To Go USB key, which seems to be working fine.

Though, during the very first (initial) configuration procedure (setup WIFI, set locale information, etc) started to act weird : on the locale screen, the dropdown for the country started scrolling and never ended to scroll, until I hit the "ESC" key.

This somehow terminated the setup procedure prematurely, and now Windows 8 asks me to login, but the wifi isn't working, so I can't use the Live account to enter the system.

Is there a way to re-enter that initial setup procedure ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Michael

But you need a Win8 system to do it (probably to make the USB key bootable)... but it works.

I have a 64 bit system up and running, but wanted a 32bit USB key version to try on an other PC of mine.

But that is not the question, in fact the question is how do you restart the initial boot sequence... I now recreated the USB key, because I couldn't find any other solution.

My understanding is that WTG is not in the currently released DP build.
How'd you manage to create the WTG key?

Dreams are free, but you get soaked on the connect time.
