This App's credentials have expired. Sharepoint/Azure/Lightswitch application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Today I have had two different clients with their Sharepoint/Azure/Lightswitch application hosted at two different data centres (South East Asia, and East Australia) report a "You do not have permission to view this directory or page." error when opening the app.

In the permissions bit of the app in sharepoint it advises "This App's credentials have expired."

There are no adverse Azure health reports for either datacentre.  There has been no new development in recent weeks on either app.  I couldn't imagine the existing credentials are more than 6 months old.

Is this a bug or am I just unlucky?

  • As an update you can refresh the credentials using this method https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/office/dn726681.aspx however can I refresh them by getting a new secret/ID via appregnew.aspx and then using them when I republish my app? (much easier..)

That being said two apps expiring on the same day is extremely coincidental.

  • Hi skolle,

    Thanks for your feedback.

From your description above, I consulted sharepoint expert about this credentials expire issue, he recommended to replace an expiring client secret in a SharePoint using link mentioned above.

    Best regards,

    Angie
