Getting Time Lag in Azure Time Series Insight RRS feed

  • Question

  • The setup we are testing has 500 devices with each device receiving 120 sendings per hour. Additionally each sending will have 64 messages. So if we consider an interval of a day (24hours) the total ingestion will be 92.16 million per day. (500*120*64*24).

Presently when we are test the setup with a capacity of 20million events per day in S2 environment of Azure Time Series Insight, we are getting a lag of around 36 days.

The actually implementation will have data for more than 1000 engines which will give rise to an ingestion rate in excess of 184.32 million data per day. The Azure Time Series Insight had a maximum capacity of 100 million events in their S2 environment. So even if we configure the maximum capacity we still will not be able to handle the visualization in real time. I would like to have advice to proceed on this topic. Please suggest me the way so that Time Series Insight can handle my data. Thanks in advance :-)

  • Hello Shobhit,

Despite Time Series Insights Pay-as-you-Go version is still in preview (therefore not supported in production environments), I believe that it would solve your limits since at this time, Time Series Insights supports a maximum ingestion rate of 6 Mbps : ~6000 (1kb) events * 60s * 60m * 24h = 518.400.000 (1kb)events per day.
