  • Question

  • I am in SharePoint 2007.  Navigation back from one of the folders take you completely back to the Original page. I want the user to go back to the previous folder and not to the root. How is that possible? Thanks.

  • Hi Mayank,

From your above description, you said that "someone wrote a Javascript can resolve the issue, but that script has to be written on many sites." Actually, There are two ways(mainly) to add a Javascript to SharePoint pages.

1、Add a Content Editor Web Part on a specified page, then copy the Javascript to it. The Javascript can only acting on one page.
2、Use SharePoint Designer add the Javascript to your Site's master page. The Javascript can acting on all of the Site pages. If you want to apply it to other Sites, you can make them use the same master page.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Mayank,

Did you make any changes in Document library view ?

Is this for any web part you deployed on another page ? or this is the doc lib default Allitems.aspx page you referred ?

How many levels you have in folders ?

  • Hi Pratik,

It is both for Document Library view and web part deployed to a page. There can be 5 levels. I am very new to Brudcrumbs. It will help a lot if you can explore the concept and give me some example to approach the problem.

Someone wrote a Javascript that will resolve this issue. But that script has to be written on many sites. I want to configure it such so that it just needs to be implemented in one place.

    Thanks a lot

  • I found two good links that implement breadcrumps in a document library,

Professional SharePoint,” Home of SharePoint Document Explorer of SharePoint”, Retrieved June 6th, 2012 from The World Wide Web “http://www.professionalsharepoint.com/dle/features.aspx

Full Folder Path, “Full Folder Path in SharePoint 2010 Library Breadcrumb Web Part”, Retrieved June 6th, 2012 from The World Wide Web “http://fullpathbreadcrumb.codeplex.com/

    These are third party tools.
