Answers

  • Hi Bahena,

According to your error message, it says the assets  of Yammer for SharePoint 2010   cannot be found.

Have you deployed the prior versions of Yammer before install the Yammer for SharePoint 3.1.4?  How about test the connection to the Yammer servers by pressing the Test Connection button?

Also please  provide detail error message of ULS log  to determine the exact cause of the error.

For SharePoint 2010, by default, ULS log is at

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS

    Best Regards,

    Eric

  • I have exactly the same problem.

    Was this ever solved?

  • Exactly same issue here. I have been trying to force the rest of the window to be shown, since controls are being loaded on the popup, but hidden by a couple of "display:none" in the css. However, although got them shown, they don't seem to work, just reload the popup in a different window...

  • I'm not sure if everyone has found a solution to this, but I figured I'd update this since I had the same issue. The links you have for assets.yammer.com literally don't exist anymore. I'm not sure why they are still included in the Yammer for SharePoint product, but they are only in there as a backup/failover option to the real URLs for the css and js files. That URL is c64.assets-yammer.com. Make sure you have access out to that location through your proxy or firewall so that SharePoint can pull in the necessary files.

  • We are experiencing a similar issue:

We are trying help a customer integrate Yammer on a SharePoint 2010 SP2 On-Premise farm (simple two tier farm setup: one SQL and one SP with all roles).

We have downloaded Yammer.SharePoint_2010_v3-1-4 from https://about.yammer.com/success/activate/integrations/

We have consulted the SharePoint Admin guide and FAQ to ensure that the wsp solution package, certificates, proxy and features are installed and configured correctly.

We have setup the intranet web application with a verified Yammer admin account and have been able to successfully “Test connection” from Central administration and use the Yammer Apps webpart from the intranet webapplication.

So basically everything works as expected, but we are having some problems with the API URLs that the SharePoint 2010 3.1.4 Yammer components loads in some cases.

When everything works fine Yammer uses these URLs to include the Javascript API and css:

    https://c64.assets-yammer.com/application_support/sharepoint/3-1-7/css/sharepoint_admin.css
    https://c64.assets-yammer.com/application_support/sharepoint/3-1-7/js/embed.js?
    https://c64.assets-yammer.com/application_support/sharepoint/3-1-7/js/yamjs-sp-global.min.js

When everything it is NOT working Yammer includes Javascript API and css from these locations:

    https://assets.yammer.com/application_support/sharepoint/3-1-3/css/yamjs-sp-global.min.css
    https://assets.yammer.com/application_support/sharepoint/3-1-3/js/embed.js
    https://assets.yammer.com/application_support/sharepoint/3-1-3/js/yamjs-sp-global.min.js?v=

These URLs doesn’t exists anymore on the Yammer servers and return HTTP 404. This causes all Yammer for SharePoint 2010 components to fail on the intranet.

Debugging the issue we discovered that the “old” (version 3.1.3) API URLs are hardcoded in the Yammer for SharePoint 3.1.4 components and that it seems Yammer uses these as a “fallback” if Yammer are not able to load the latest API URLs from this URL https://www.yammer.com/application_support/sharepoint/releases_config.json

It also seems that Yammer caches these API URLs until Yammer decides they expire or the web application pool recycles.

We are able to “force” this be recycling the application pool that runs the intranet web application which causes Yammer to try and get the latest API URLs again.

Do Microsoft have a patch/update for the Yammer SharePoint 2010 3.1.4 package so is doesn’t “fall back” to the “old” not existing API URLs?

Our customers users are accessing the intranet from many different locations in the world (some with high latency) and on many different devices. It’s far from optimal for them if their entire organizations use of Yammer on SharePoint 2010 it dependent on some random users ability successfully request a single URL at all times from all devices (https://www.yammer.com/application_support/sharepoint/releases_config.json).

Hope someone can help solve this.

  • Any update on this? I have just had this issue in my production issue.

For some reason it didn't occur in my test environment.

So I'm trying to work out what is different between the test and prod environments but as far as I can tell so far there is no difference. So any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Scott

  • Make sure your servers and any accounts running the SharePoint portion have access to get to the domains below. These are everything that Microsoft says needs to be accessed for full functionality (minus assets-yammer.com for some reason. They don't mention that one, but I found that out on my own).

    *.yammer.com or 204.152.18.0/23

    *.cloudfront.net

    *.amazonaws.com

    *.cotssl.net

    *.edgekey.net

    *.assets-yammer.com
