Error Creating Derived Hierarchy Subscription View RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am on MDS version 10.50.1753.0 and database schema version 1.0.4.0. When attempting to create a subscription view on a derived hierarchy, a generic error is thrown from the MDS web site.  I traced this back to the stored procedures that create the subscription view and it looks like it isn't handling Entity names that contain spaces or any invalid columns characters.

As a workaround, I'll ensure all entity names are such that they could be column names without column name qualifiers "[]"

Just wanted to report this as it appears to be a bug.

    Thank you

    Jeff

  • Thanks Jeff,

This is a known bug, it has been fixed in SQL Server 2012, and I believe it also fixed in 2008R2 SP1. You are current running on 2008R2 CU4, we highly recommend customer to apply all service pack and hotfixes.
