  • Hi,

If your hardware supports 64 bit and you are running Windows 64 bit I would strongly suggest you install and use SQL server 64 bit. 32 bit SQL has lots of potential performance issues that are eliminated with the use of 64 bit.

  • Do you mean SQL server 2008? Yes, 32 bit editions are supported on 64 bit Windows for stand alone instances i.e. not clustered instances.

    certified for what ?

if you effectively mean supported by Microsoft please check the link provided by Sean in the previous posting (scroll down till the section "SQL Server 2008 R2 DataCenter (32-bit)" or "SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise (32-bit)" or "SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard (32-bit)" depending on your edition.
