VS 2017 produces reference error

    Question

  • Hello, The Utilities project has been referenced in the Test Actions project.  However, I'm getting an error that the reference is not part of the namespace, yet it is seen in intellisence.  Anyone know what's happening here?

  • Hi closl,

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

    >>The Utilities project has been referenced in the Test Actions project.

Please go to 'Reference' and make sure this reference be added correctly and there is no warning or other icons beside the reference. Try to remove and re-add this reference and Clean, rebuild the solution or close all tabs and restart the VS to check if this issue persists or not.

Please have a look at this similar error: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3304741/getting-type-or-namespace-name-could-not-be-found-but-everything-seems-ok

This can be the result of a .Net framework version incompatibility between two projects. You need to make sure the Utilities project and Test Actions projects target to the same .NET Framework version. If not, please upgrade or download and re-add this reference per your condition.

    Best regards,

    Sara
