Windows 8 Developer Preview Fail to boot RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys

I have downloaded the Developer Preview ISO last night, and burnt it to a DVD.

When I boot up with the DVD, I get two screens with Windows Loading, and a progress bar.  However, I then get a black screen stating that Windows failed to start, put in the correct media etc etc.  An error number 0xc0000001 appears, as well as something about winload.exe that could not be found.

I have searched around here, and the only reference to that was with some guys having problems with virtualization software.

Any help on this, and shout if anyone needs more info.

  • Hello,

I would suggeset redownloading the ISO and reburning it and try again - you situation sounds like corrupt installation files.
