Using IIS to host the SSRS

    Question

  • Hi All,

I am aware that the SSRS is not hosted on the IIS anymore, but on HTTP.SYS. But, I would like to know if it is somehow possible to still host the SSRS in IIS? Can I change the web server for SSRS somehow?

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

As far as I know it's not possible and most DBA's prefer to not have IIS runing on the same machine as SQL Server; that's why SSRS uses it's own HTTP.SYS.

  • Hi thelearner86

Seems it couldn’t in native mode ,while in integrated mode and since you have to join the SSRS machine to the farm, you have to install SharePoint WFE components on RS machine and this means dependency on IIS, but again that’s the dependency SharePoint has on IIS , not SSRS.

You could see more information at : Say Goodbye to IIS, Say Hello to HTTP.SYS!

    Hope it can help you.
