How to Convert Kinects Hierarchical Joint Rotation to Unity Rotations (Quaternions) RRS feed

  • I'm trying to get hierarchical joint rotation from Kinect SDK to Unity but I'm having trouble converting it to match.

    I'm using 
    boneOrientation[i].hierarchicalRotation.rotationQuaternion.x
    to access individual rotations and sending them to Unity. 

    Any help on converting Kinect SDK local rotation quaternions to Unity quaternions would be appreciated.

  • You may need to ask on the Unity forums to learn more about their coordinate system. If this is anything like XNA, there is an Avateering sample that shows how you can apply the rotations to model that is rigged for this purpose.
