how to upload .app file into existing access web app RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am working in Share point access web app 2013. there are 2 separate environment test and production. when we need to work with the live  data it is always we need to create another new app from the production app backup. It takes spaces. Is there any way to restore the production app to the existing app in the test environment ?

    Thank u in advance.

You should already be fully engaged in looking for alternatives.

  • Hello,

If you want to upload an app into one sharepoint site, please visit Upload an Access app to a site

If you want to merge two apps into one, AFAIK, it is impossible.

As Tom suggested, Microsoft no longer recommends creating and using Access web apps in SharePoint. As an alternative, consider using Microsoft PowerApps to build no-code business solutions for the web and mobile devices.

  • Hi Celeste,

Thanks for sharing the information. Exactly the process we follow right now. We take a backup of an app from production then restore it on the test environment by Or upload an Access .app package option.

So by this process every time we have new multiple app in the test environment for the same access web app.

Therefore I am searching for the solution that will not create an new app though I restore the app by Or upload an Access .app package option. It will replace the previous app.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Tom,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

So we can implement PowerApp to our existing application configuration? Please guide me how to upgrade the Access App application to PowerApp.

    Thanks & Regards

  • It's up to you to do the research. Only you know the requirements. Personally I think PowerApps have potential, but are currently far from matching Access web apps. As they say in the USA: your mileage may vary.

There is no such feature available. You need to delete duplicates in your test environment.

In your production environment, you are editing a same app, but for your test environment, you are uploading different apps each time.

PowerApp is a new product differing from Office. For the issue about using PowerApp, I would suggest you ask in PowerApps Forum. Thanks for your understanding.
