Delivering the .NET framework with a .NET Application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I intend to deploy a .NET application to users that don't have the .NET framework installed.
These users do not have administrator priveleges and therefore can not install the .NET framework.
Is there a way of delivering this application along with a light install of the .NET framework that does not require administrator priveleges to be installed ?

    Thank you for your answers,
    Ben

  • AFAIK not really, there is only 1 setup for the .NET framework which no such "lite" version exists but one big package. You can either download it and install it or create a setup and deployment project to download and install the framework however this would still require admin priviledges to install components. The best thing is for the computer to have already installed the .NET Framework by the administrator of the computer.

I will move the thread to the correct forum for the experts to help you more
