Is kinetic clicking/dragging/scrolling possible in blend? RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • We're working on the concept of a timeline that is shown through a relatively small rectangular window in our application... what I'd like to do is elliminate the graphical scroll bar, which the user steers left and right through the history with, and have the user click and drag the actual content in the scroller.  For bonus points, I'd love to add the ability for kinetic scrolling akin to the iPhone or Samsung Instinct, where if the user clicks and drags at speed and lets go, the scroller continues to scroll and eventually comes to a stop.

    So two questions...

    1. how best to click and drag through content without scroll bars?
    2. possible to add kinetic intelligence to that ability?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • I've read in places that this functionality is also known as 'flicking'...  I think I've seen it on some WPF aps out there, so I believe it is indeed possible...
