  • Hi Mahesh,

    Glad to receive your reply.

I try to record a coded UI test for the vertical scroll bar movement in VS2010/VS2012, they couldn’t record this control.

As you said that it seems that you could record it with VS2010, please generate it the code, and then share us some code for it.

As far as I know, the coded UI test couldn’t record it, like Deepak’s suggestion in this thread, and we could write custom code to simulate actions.

For example, if we couldn’t find a file in the desktop, so we need to find it with scroll bar movement. So we could use the code Mouse.MoveScrollWheel()or any other Mouse APIs here on the scroll bar.

Refer “4. Virtualization issues” in the following blog

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/tapas_sahoos_blog/archive/2011/11/07/troubleshooting-record-and-playback-issues-in-coded-ui-test.aspx.

Hope it could provide a useful information.

But if you want to record the movement of the scroll bar with the Coded UI test Recorder in VS2012, I suggest you submit this feedback to Microsoft Connect feedback portal: http://connect.microsoft.com, Microsoft engineers will evaluate them seriously.

  • Hi Mahesh,

Thank you for posting in the MSDN forum.

Could you share us a simple sample? I will try to run it in my Environment. Of course, if you have different machine, you could try to check it. You would check whether it supports this control like this MSDN document in VS2012. But if it has the same issue in different machines, since it worked well in VS2010, to help you result this issue, you can submit this feedback to Microsoft Connect feedback portal: http://connect.microsoft.com, Microsoft engineers will evaluate them seriously. Thanks for your understanding.
