Task Updates are not reflected in Project Scehdule after Approval and Publishing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am facing an issue with Ms Project Server 2010 for approval of Task Updates. User has marked the Task as completed and send the status update to Manager. Manager has approved the Task Update and published the schedule. However, the project schedule doesn't display the Task as complete.

I have also checked the Task History page of Approval Center. The Task History page displays that the Task was Approved as Completed and the schedule was published. I am unable to get a resolution for this issue. Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

  • Hi,

please check the task type. I assume this task has Task Type fixed Duration. Because of that, the assignment is complete, but task is not.

Does that explain what you see?

  • The issue is there for both Fixed Units and Fixed Duration type of tasks. More details of the issue:

    a. User has updated only the Actual Start and Actual Finish Dates and sent the updates for approval. The issue does not appear when actual work or remaining work is updated

    b. While approving the Task Update, the previous Actual Date is displayed in Preview screen is incorrect. The year displayed is 2147

Is this a known issue for updates by Actual Start Date and Actual Finish Date?
