SQL Timeout period elapsed error RRS feed

  • Hello All,

    I have gotten an error today that has been going on since 8 AM this morning. The error is pointing to a timeout elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. here is the full error:

    System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

    CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THIS MIGHT BE, AND HOW TO GO ABOUT FIXING IT?

  • Hello,

    Looks like a connection time out, default time out is 15 seconds and the application couldn't connect to SQL Server within this time; may be the SQL Server was to busy/under pressure or Network issues or ...
