How can I move my database from sqlserver to mysql RRS feed

  • Somebody has any experience on it?
    If you haven't all the things you want,be grateful for the things you don't have that you didn't want.

  • Good luck?  There are tools to migrate from MySQL to SQL, but similar tools don't exist from my personal experience.  Your best bet would be to purchase a third party tool like Redgate's  SQL Packager (http://www.red-gate.com/products/sql-development/sql-packager/) which will generate ANSI standard scripts for the database that you can try to recreate in the MySQL environment.  

    What exactly is motivating you to do this?  SQL Express 2008R2 supports databases that are 10GB in size which should be sufficient for most free environments.

  • We did have such experience  but moving only the data not all objects (stored procedures, views and etc..)

    What exactly do you want to move?

    I only need to move tables and views from sqlserver to mysql
