MS ACCESS ACCDB file expands-bloating RRS feed

  • Hi i've got a strange case where my accdb bloats a lot , even after erasing all tables forms etc i have 55 MB of Ghost/Zombie Matieral any ideas how to get rid of it? of course i tried c&r , decompile , importing to an empty file helps but has side effects...

  • Do you have a custom ribbon, did you ever insert any images in forms/reports these could be stored in system tables and thus never flushed.

  • yes i have both,

    most of my images are inserted by vba code  -path

    , I found the main memory consumer: MSysAccessStorage (Hidden system table). it seems to contain accdb object map essential for running the app

    is there a way to get around it? or decrease it's size?

  • Decrease it's size: Optimize the images so they are as small as possible while giving you the desired results.

    You can always transfer everything, excluding that table, to a new db and build from there.
