Driver for UPS - Universal Serial Bus Usage tables for HID Power Devices RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a UPS(uninterruptable Power Supply) with a USB port (Cypress 0665-5161 chip inside)

This UPS can communicate with its own software or a terminal by using the device-protocol

What would be needed to install this UPS to be seen by windows as a HID Power Device?

I like to use the 'Universal Serial Bus Usage tables for HID Power Devices' to read UPS events and control the windows shutdown command without having to use the software that came with the UPS.

Do I need a (sub)driver to translate between the Device-protocol and the HID-Power Device protocol or is there more to it?
