Setup Has Detected A Non Canonical Discretionary Access Control List RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am installing SQL 2008 with no upgrade on Windows 2003 Server.

I get the warnings after install that

Setup Has Detected A Non Canonical Discretionary Access Control List  for Shared, COM, and DTS folders.

I used the NetworkServices for all accounts during installation.  This was allowed and no place for a password was provided.

Can someone please tell me what I should do to remove this warning.

    Thanks,

    Mark

  • Hello Mark,

If you create a local Windows account with administrative privileges on your computer, and you use that account as the service account for SQL Server services, does that warning disappear?

    Hope this helps.
